Exposing students to activities related to paramedics and the Red Crescent Association was among the aim of the Sayyidina Ali Secondary School in organising basic training on first aid. More than 40 students and 8 teachers of the school are taking part in the training. The Acting Commandant of First Aid Training of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society, Awang Haji Harris bin Abdul Latif said first aid training is useful for all students, staff of government departments and private sectors and members of the public.
With the training, participants would be able to help injured victims by giving first aid before the arrival of the medical personnel. The three-day First Aid Training train participants on ways to help and treat minor injuries including the proper way to move injured victim. They are also briefed on how to help a food poisoning victim.
