Belait Red Crescent members, JAPEM officers and recipients at the event. - LIZA MOHAMADTo care for the interest of the less fortunate people in the Sultanate, the Belait Red Crescent Association yesterday morning made a contribution to families and individuals currently receiving welfare assistance from Community Development Department (JAPEM).
The presentation to a senior citizen and two underprivileged families was held at JAPEM's office in Kuala Belait.
The presentation of daily food supplies and necessities were made by Chairman of Belait Red Crescent Association, Chai Yum Fatt. Also present to witness the contribution was Head of Belait's JAPEM, Dyg Noridah binte Haji Ishak, JAPEM officers and members of the Belait Red Crescent Association.
The Chairman said the contribution hopes to ease the burden of less fortunate people in the district and the association will boost community works in a bid to create awareness among its youth members.
